Why We Give
Scholarships for continuing education through Neville Alumni and Friends is an important reason to support NAFA.
Your support through membership or donations helps to fund our yearly scholarships which are given to Neville seniors each year.
Scholarship Opportunities
If you’d like to donate to a specific scholarship, simply note it in the comments/notes section of the form. Your entire contribution will go directly to the scholarship of your choice.
NAFA Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Applicants must be the child of a current NAFA member.
- Applicants must attend a Louisiana College or University.
Brian Gregory Memorial Scholarship Award ($1,000)

- Applicants must plan to study Social Studies or Government in college.
- Applicants are required to be of good moral character, active in the community and school and be a good role model.
Joyce Mehl Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Charlotte Bolton Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must have been a member of the NHS Tennis Team for at least two (2) years.
- Applicants must have at least a 2.7 GPA.
Tom Scott Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must be a graduating senior of Neville High School in Monroe, LA.
- Applicants must have been a participating member of a Neville High School Athletic Team or a member of a support group for at least two (2) years.
- Applicants must have maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Applicants must be in good standing with Neville High School.
- Applicants must have reflected qualities personified by Coach Ruple and Coach Brown such as good character, good citizenship, good sportsmanship, and concern for others and an overall enthusiasm for life.
Allen Scott Daniel Memorial Scholarship (2 at $1,000)

- Applicants must have been a member of the NHS Baseball or Golf Team for at least two (2) years.
- Applicants must have at least a 2.8 GPA.
- Applicants must attend ULM or Tech.

- Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA.
The Trey Altick Memorial Scholarship Award ($1,000)

- Applicants must submit an essay with their goals in life and interests, their course of study and what they expect from attending LSU.
- The winner must be accepted to LSU for the fall semester following graduation.

The Neville High School Class of 1976 Memorial Scholarship Award ($1,000)

Benefactor Neville High School Class of 1976
The Neville High School Class of 1976 desires to honor those classmates held in loving memory. Our hope is to support and encourage the basic trait of human kindness towards one another and to give an example to show students that kindness, indeed, can be rewarded.
The Class of 1976 asks the scholarship committee to select the candidate who is the unsung hero or heroine, one who displays compassion and honor towards other people.
The Jane Whittington Memorial Scholarship Award Writing Contest (1st $750 & 2nd $500)

- The writings entered will be judged by an independent English teacher.
- The entrants must submit one-to-three examples of their literary work.
- The winners must be college bound and interested in the art of literary composition.
Mark Lane Williams Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Applicants must have a devotion to music and be college bound.
The Christella Dawson/Ann Qualls Scholarship ($20,000)
Established 2021
Benefactors Patty Qualls NHS 1972 & John Lacy and Dr. Christella Dawson
- This scholarship will be given to a student who will attend a four (4) year college or university.
- The scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who has need of financial assistance as determined by the benefactor of said scholarship.
- The winner will be mentored by the benefactor for the duration of their college education. It will be given every four (4) years.
The Carrick Richard Inabnett Music Scholarship ($1,500)

Benefactors Marie Louise & David Kinder
This scholarship is given in honor of Carrick Inabnett, Class of 1959, by his daughter and son in law, Marie Louise and David Kinder of Houston, TX. Carrick played in the Neville band that represented Louisiana at the Inaugural Parade of President John F. Kennedy in 1960.
- Applicants must have been a member of the band, orchestra or choir for at least their junior and senior years.
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
The Zach Inabnet Memorial Scholarship ($1500)

Benefactors Pam Scalia NHS 1977 & Scott Cummins
This scholarship is given in memory of Stephen Zach Inabnet, Class of 2004 by his mother and stepfather, Pam Scalia & Scott Cummins. Zach was a musician, and actor. Zach loved acting and writing and directing plays while in school. He participated in several plays that he wrote while in school. He wanted to become an actor or movie director. He loved his alma mater and acquired much of his love for the performing arts through his time at Neville.
- The applicant must be furthering their career in Performing Arts in college.
- The applicant must have at least a 2.8 GPA.
Thomas King Landry “Eye of the Tiger” Scholarship Award ($1,000)

Benefactors The Landry Family
- Applicants’ achievements must exemplify the ideals of the “Eye of a Tiger” award by possessing a laser-focus on a singular goal.
- The applicants must possess imagination, effort, courage, and most of all perseverance in the face of adversity, which is the single most important attribute of an entrepreneur.
- This recipient of the “Eye of the Tiger” award is steadfast in pursuit of their quest.
#318 Love your Community Scholarship Award ($2,000)

The #318 Love your Community Scholarship Award is given in memory of Susan (‘67) and Tommy Sparks (’62) by their daughters, Liz McQueen, Susie Lefebvre & Jennifer Sparks.
- Applicants who are actively engaged in their community, who have volunteered, participated in community service projects, and demonstrated leadership skills in the #318 area code are eligible for this Community Involvement Award.
The James Rogers Mathematics Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must have attended Neville for a minimum of two (2) full years.
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA in pre-calculus and calculus (each class).
- Applicants must be an in-person student learning NOT online or transferred credit.
- Applicants must present excellence of character in school and have a work ethic as evidenced by National Honor Society membership.
- Applicants must intend to major in a math-related area in college.
- Selection will be made by the Neville calculus teacher and the NAFA scholarship committee.
Paula Stidham School Spirit Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must be a member of Neville Cheer, Tigerettes, Bengal Belles, or Flag Corps for a minimum of two (2) years.
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Applicants must exhibit traits exemplified by the teaching, coaching and caring involvement of Paula Stidham, former NHS Language teacher and Cheer sponsor.
Vince Pardue Memorial Scholarship ($2,000)

- Applicants must have attended Neville for a full two (2) years.
- Applicants must be a Neville Tiger athlete.
- Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Applicants must embody Vince’s Tiger Leadership & Courage.
Aaron Rosenberg Memorial Scholarship (2 at $2,000)
Established 2024
Benefactor Herman Rosenberg NHS 1969
Annually, Mr. Herman Rosenberg, benefactor and father, will award two (2) scholarships. Awardees will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee. Monies will be paid to the university of recipient’s choice, with NAFA handling the disbursement to the college of recipient’s choice.
- Applicants for the tennis scholarship must be a Neville tennis player who shows excellence on and off the court.
- Applicants for the art scholarship must be a Neville student who displays artistic skills and is in good standing with Neville High School.
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Applicants must have attended Neville High for at least two (2) years.
Stephen A. Jefferson Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

- Applicants must have attended Neville High School for the full term of their Junior and Senior year.
- Applicants Parent/Parents/Guardian must be a member in good standing of Neville Alumni and Friends Association to make application for this scholarship.
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA at the time of application.
- Applicants must plan to attend LSU.
Tarver Braddock Memorial Scholarship ($1,800)
